This time I am going to make a long story short, as all these Facebook scam stories are pretty much the same, except the names & photos change, but the scam is the same. Cute girl says hello on Facebook, then you guys chat a little and then move on to WhatsApp. There, you chat about anything & everyting with a good amount of loving talk thrown in. Somewhere along the conversation, the topic of Crypto currency comes up, and now cute girl wants to help you make a lot of money, so that you two, can travel the world and enjoy a great life... Blah, Blah Blah, Blah.... Ben there, done that several time....
So, this story is pretty much a repeat. We chatted, found out that she designs clothes (I doubt it) and that she mines Crypto currency as a side business. Of course, she wants to teach me how to do that so I could be rich & we can spend a beautiful life together! I was not ready for that at the time, as I just lost $1000 with some other skank, and didn't even know what mining entails. So, we talk more, she sent cute photos, although her FB page (which she rencently deleted) had a bunch of really nice pics of her. She sent me a few shots of her legs while in the tub. Just legs, they don't show their faces too much. And of course we talked about love, relationships, lifestyle likes & don't likes, and it got a little itimate. We had talked about me driving up to DC to meet her. She seemend anxious to meet me. She mentioned that she would show me all the nice places around DC and that she would treat me to really good Chinese or Thai food. I was very anxious to meet her as well.
At one point, she sent me photos of her apartment. It was just the living room, but included a short video of the beach down below. I sent her pictures of my condo; just the kitchen. I then asked her to send me a picture of her kitchen. She said OK. She then said "I'm walking to the kitchen to take a pic for you" and a few minutes later I had a picture of her kitchen which look nice & big. There was one little problem with that picture however. It had a watermark on it. Oh, oh! RED FLAGS! Who sends a picture of their kitchen with a watermark on it. So, I confronted her about that, and we got into a pretty heavy argument. So, I called it a night, told her "let's talk again tomorrow".
The next day, I ignored her all day till about 5:45pm. She responded around 7:15pm. I asked if she wanted to video chat. She said OK. She called me around 7:30. We chatted for about 2 minutes or so. During the video chat, she kep moving her head side to side and moving the phone around so that I couldn't get a good look at her. But I did. Guess what? She sure as hell didn't look like the cute girl that I had met on Facebook. Not even close. See was not cute at all. But after the chat, I guess she thought we were all good, she posted a pic of her legs in the bathtub, again. I guess she thought she had me fooled. She didn't. This time I hasked "could you send me pic of Real You?" Well, that didn't set too well with her. We ended up in a fight and ended that relationship right there. I told her off, she blocked me. Her gig was to get me invested in mining, (I think she was mining ETH, not sure) but anyway from what I saw on Youtube about mining, after you buy the ETH, then you place it in a validator ( they do say to spread your investment over several validators in case there is a loss) and that once you see profit, you can withdraw, BUT... IT TAKES 28 DAYS TO GET YOUR FUNDS BACK IN YOUR WALLET. This is great for scammers. Not only can you lose your money on the validator itself, but you could also be directed to a fake validator by those scammers. While you're waiting the 28 days for your funds to clear, your scammer is long gone.... I would not recommend mining at all. Way too risky.
