Bad! They Really Suck.


The AWEFUL Home Depot Experience,

To whom it may concern:

This memo is to express how "Pissed Off" I am at Home Depot. I am Furious!

Yesterday, I had the worst experience at your store(s): store # 6310, & # 285, with your ditzy employees.
On June 16, 2021, I placed an online order: Order Number WD75045219 for $821.93 to pick up at Hollywood store #6310.

The online receipt listed the items I ordered, and all except for 2 had a notation: Available today. So yesterday, the 18th, around 2:00 pm. I went to the store to see if any of these items could be picked up. This is for a job at our condo building and I was anxious to get to work. I could have, just went to the store and picked it up myself, but I had a 10% off coupon that I wanted to use on the whole order but 2 items were not available at the store, and wanted to save time and let HD prepare my order. It was only 8 items.

So, the girl at the pick-up counter; her name is Jolina, told me that the order was not ready, but that if I didn't mind waiting a while, she would get somebody to get it ready for me. So ok, I didn't mind waiting, after all there were only 8 items to gather up. How long could it take? Wifey & I sat & waited for about 15 minutes, but because I had a feeling that the order was not being filled, I went back to Jolina to confirm that someone was working on it. She assured me that someone was. She said that she would check with that someone in 10 minutes or so, to see how he was doing. So, we waited some more. 10 minutes or so later, wifey wanted to go to another store in the same plaza to shop for pet stuff, so I told Jolina that we would be back in 45 minutes or so...

We came back to find out that the order had not even been started. I mean "What The Hell?" All this time that we wasted at the store and NOTHING, absolutely Nothing was done. I was really angry that they had not even started and Jolina and that idiot that was supposed to be putting the order together -remember it's only 8 items- were just jerking off, wasting my time. They could have just told me; "Sorry sir, we are shorthanded and cannot have your order ready today" While that would have been short for "We just don't feel like screwing with it, we prefer goofing off", I could have left, instead of wasting my time.

Also, while I was there, another customer of mine needed some Formica work, so I asked an employee where I could find Formica. I just wanted to look at samples to match a counter top. Wouldn't you know it, he sent me to the wrong dept. The employees on the floor are few & far apart. One has to look around to find one to ask directions and most of the time they send you on a wild goose chase.

I can't express how disappointed, and furious I was. Just this issue alone makes me think I should shop elsewhere, based on this customer service experience.

BUT, there's MORE! And on the same day!

Earlier that day, I decided to buy a laminate trim router. The one that I liked online, the DeWalt Model #DWP611, showed none in stock at #6310 but 3 in stock at #185, so I ordered one. But less than an hour later someone from that store called to tell me that they did not have in stock.

Geez! You would think, as big as Home Depot is, that their website would be updated. It seems it's not.

Anyway, I told that young lady that the Davie store showed 3 in stock as well, and asked if she could verify that they did in fact have them in stock. To my surprise, she told me that I would have to call the store myself to find out. So, I did that.

I called and someone asked me to hold for a few minutes... OK, no problem. In the meantime, I had shopped other online retailers recommended by DeWalt and found one that had it in stock for the same price, $139.00 with free delivery for June 22nd, and no sales tax. I would have bought the HD one, because I could have had it that same day. However, it was not essential that I have it the same day... So, after 15 minutes on hold, I decided "F**K This!" I hung up and bought the one from the other retailer.

At the end of the day, my impression of Home Depot and its team is; What a bunch of "Fuck Off's!" Sorry, as vulgar as you find that sentiment, it IS what best describes my Home Depot experience on that day of; June 18, 2021.

Just a "Wake Up" call to the Home Depot corp. that you are not the only home goods retailer out there. There's Lowes, Ace, and a bunch of "little guys" that clones every dept. you have, but with more choices and better prices, plus a "Shit load" of online retailers with free shipping and no sale tax, that sell everything you have and much more.

Home Depot prices aren't that good, in fact some stuff is downright overpriced: borderline Rip Off. So, one expects the convenience of "Everything in one store" and Good Customer Service.

I did not experience that on June 18, 2021.
